SANTAMATATO

Our story: a century of experience in the customs sector

Founded in 1924 as “Ditta Arcangelo Santamato” and transformed into Santamato Srl in 1984, the company has more than a century of experience in the customs sector. With a solid tradition and seven specialized employees, Santamato has established itself as a leader in customs shipments in Bari, with a continuous commitment to reliability and competence.

Customs warehousing and logistics activities

Santamato offers customs and logistics shipping services from the port of Bari, where it has been operating for over a century. The exclusive 4000 square meter customs warehouse, located directly inside the port, allows quick and safe operations, avoiding expensive intermediate transfers.

Ideal for imports, exports and groupage operations, this warehouse allows you to store non-EEC goods without immediate payment of customs duties and VAT, in line with customer needs.

With connections to Turkey, China and other global destinations, Santamato guarantees a complete and advantageous service for every logistic need.

Banana weighers

By virtue of the AWB CUSTOMS DECISION: ITAWBIT018000-2019-QWE54951 we are authorized as Banana Weighers.

The weighing service for fresh bananas consists of 4 phases:

1. The container disembarks, the official weigher notifies customs of the presence of the goods in the port and, subsequently, informs that they must be weighed. The customs, within 24 hours, must give consent to the weighing with or without the presence of a delegated salesman.

2. The container is taken to the warehouse for weighing. Here, based on the number of packages in the container and by type, the weighing is carried out.

3. Once the weighing has been carried out, the official weigher will issue a “Weighing Note” document, with which the weight to be subject to duty will be taken for good.

4. The container is closed, plumbed and returned to the terminal, waiting for the customs bill that 'releases it'.

Thanks to this service, companies can simplify their procedures, reduce costs and ensure maximum compliance with current regulations.
